Due to some complications from my past brain surgery, I am unable to send out any scraps at the present time.
However, if you are looking for scraps now, there are a number of excellent businesses that may be able to help by sending you scraps now. Please follow the link below to their blog and post a message there requesting scraps. PLEASE explain what you will be using them for so the correct business can help you receive scraps. You don't want to get silk scraps if you are going to make quilts; or you don't want leather if you are making a prom gown, etc. These are just examples but I hope you will see why it is important to provide the details of your project. This is something new I am trying so it may take a little while to work out the details so please be patient. This is new to both you and the companies offering the scraps. You will pay the actual postage to receive the box of scraps and please mention how big of a box you would like. If you have a request for a certain type of material, please make sure you explain that. If you only work with cotton be sure to state that so they don't send you other types. If you are willing to work with anything, you will probably get more responses. Also be sure to include your zip code in your initial request so they can figure out the shipping costs. This joint venture can be fantastic so please treat these people with respect so they will continue to offer these scraps. If a misunderstanding does occur, please try to work it out in an adult manner, we all know mistakes can happen! The link to the blog is www.fashion-incubator.com/mt/archives/what_to_do_with_scrap.html and click on the comments link underneath the story to post your request. If this starts to work out, I may request they add a section dedicated to the scrap project so it may be easier to find. I am not personally involved with this project, I am just making it available to everyone looking for scraps. You will be dealing directly with the companies offering the scraps and I don't have any influence with them or even any contact to them. I was contacted by Kathleen, the person who runs the blog where this offer is posted. If you receive scraps from this offer, please email Kathleen and let her know how it went. I am sure she would be interested in knowing it worked out for you. You may even want to post a message on the blog Thanking the Company that sent the scraps. This way others will know what to expect if they take advantage of this offer. A follow up message with what you used the scraps for might encourage other companies to offer more scraps also. And of course, Magic Mike is always interested in receiving photos of completed projects so feel free to return here and send me some photos of completed projects. |
